I just received an email from healthcareforallillinois.org, part of Physicians for a National Health Program publicizing a rally with Michael Moore this Thursday, June 21, at 4pm.
Dear Illinois Single-Payer Activists,
Filmmaker Michael Moore will rally with Health Care for All Illinois and allied groups this Thursday, June 21 at 4:00 p.m. at Daley Bicentennial Plaza (337 E. Randolph, just east of Millenium Park by the old skating rink). Moore is stopping in Chicago to promote his new documentary, "SiCKO," a scathing indictment of the U.S. health system. Speakers from HCAI and other health advocacy groups will join him on stage. The rally will be followed by a march one block to the Blue Cross Blue Shield building. Save the date!
Health Care for All Illinois volunteers are needed to pass out fliers for the rally, HCAI buttons and literature, and carry the HCAI banner in the march. If you are willing to come out one hour before the rally (3:00), please email HCAI secretary Nicholas Skala at nick@pnhp.org.
Also, please visit PNHP's special SiCKO site for materials suitable for printing and handing out at theaters: www.SickoCure.org
Cordially,
Quentin Young, MD
National Coordinator, PNHP | Board Member, HCAI
If you don't know Dr. Quentin Young, he will impress the hell out of you.
IL HB 311, single payer for Illinois, principal sponsor Mary E. Flowers, presently languishes.
Help turn up the heat!
All Illinoisans, contact your state critters!
NOTE: Apparently this rally came about so quickly the web sites have yet to be updated.
