Love him or hate him, there is no denying that Steve Gilliard was a great writer.
His legacy will be his writing.
So, how to we go about preserving this?
Given the peripatetic nature of the internet, it is increasingly likely that his work will become inaccessible, or even worse, be lost forever.
What is the best way to prevent this?
On a personal level, I used the following two blogspot.com url hacks. Basically, they do a date search from May 0f 2001 through may of 2008 with a limit of 100,000 posts on both his old (blogspot.com)and his new url.

Warning, in addition to being a good writer, he was also a prolific writer, so it takes a LONG time to render, and then save these to disk.
Total downloaded size is well over 100 MB, and it took me over an hour, with my computer doing nothing else to finish.
