OK. So far you’ve all signed the petition; you’ve joined a local Draft Gore group; you've contributed money that is being used for radio ads; you’ve blogged and written personal letters to Al Gore asking him to run; you search the Internet every day, looking for signs; some of you even had the experience of meeting Al and having him sign your book; you got to wear a Draft Gore button, chant "Run Al Run," and personally ask him to run for president. Now what?
With Live Earth just around the corner, I’ve got an outrageous idea. Let’s ask the Live Earth performers to publicly ask Al to run during their performance.
We need someone to research and provide us all with names and addresses of all the bands, or their representatives, who will be part of Live Earth. We need to write letters, send emails, make phone calls, whatever, to simply request that they make our feelings (and hopefully theirs as well) known.
Just yesterday, Jon Bon Jovi, a close personal friend of Gore’s, went on record that he would like to see Al run. There must be more like him who believe that not only is Al Gore what America (and world) needs at this point in our history, but that he the only candidate available with the vision, courage, integrity and experience needed to get the job done. He was right on the Internet, right on the environment, right on Iraq and right for America.
OK. What do you think?
