Well, shit... MsLaura's got a point when she says that impeachment is a nuclear option and that it generates nuclear fallout. Dammit, its almost enough to make an SDS member renege on the issue, and hell, I've been unequivocal about stringin' up the bastards since the Iraqi Occupation. But this is not really about that. This is about how, despite the horrid things occuring to and scarring of our very Constitution, the very Document I saw bathed in green light at the National Archives, perhaps the last thing I hold Holy, that a person can get a dopamine rush. It's quite an odd thing. To consider buying a gun to defend oneself against the federal government, and at the same time attend a 4th party with a lovely brunette. How surreal that at the same time that the bite of fatalism can hit, that one of the most primal facts of life can continue to operate.
Its weird. I feel the need to get all this down before the song of alcohol and whisper of nicotine lose their hold. I suppose that one could consider this LifeBlogging, that perhaps DKos needs more of this, that talk of Scooter Libby and Iraq War casualties need give way to discussion of every day feelings and hopes. Not meaning to wax Meta, I am certainly one to Rec Pro-Impeachment diaries on general principles, but at the same time recognize that we kinda need a break from the political gripe du jour.
I close this screed hoping that this approaches some semblance of coherency. Not likely. But one can hope... Happy Independence Day and Murphy smile upon the Republic.
