Here we go again... when will they learn. Todays Post has an Op-Ed calling for... wait for it... wait for it...
Bombing Cambodia! Whoops, I mean Pakistan.
Why? Because the Mushariff government is embattled and, uh... Oh yeah Al Qaeda. Fred Hiatt's editoral page seems to have missed the exit for farce and taken the turn for satire. There have been some hilarious pieces just this week. Bill Kristol's "Why Bush is a Winner" is a lot funnier than this one - but if have a have a few spare minutes, you should still drop by to tell them they are a bunch of a**holes.
The Op-Ed was under the header "Eliminate al-Qaeda's Sanctuary" follow below for my response.
Want to eliminate their REAL sanctuary? Then cleanse the cronies, hacks, and apparatchiks that are running on our government, foreign policy, and managing this disastrous war in the Middle East. Until we have competent, legitimate, and credible government again our enemies - on every front - will grow stronger, more tenacious, and more determined while we grow more divided, weak, and listless.
The idea that broadening the war into Pakistan will help is absolutely ludicrous. It is a product of the same diseased minds that brought you the Iraq war. These irrational people fail to understand that every “targeted strike” makes new terrorists no matter how many you kill in the blast or how accurate your aim. Every bomb that falls makes an enemy for your child or grand children.
Still the Wa-Po editorial page presses bravely on!
I wonder how many people the author of this editorial know who are on the ground over there fighting. I don’t mean making decisions from the green zone or some bunker in Kabul – I mean carrying a rifle and killing people with it.
WaPo and readers - stop fooling yourselves. You can’t kill all the terrorist. Every time that you try, you make new terrorists. Want to focus on defeating the terrorists? Then get our boys out of the Middle East. Do not give the Imams, Dictators, and Jihadists a scapegoat, “the Americans”, to blame for their numerous problems. Soon you will se the anger, hatred, and terror directed at their political leaders and not the American people.
We have enough problems to fix with this criminal, incompetent Administration and their apparatchiks in Congress and in the Supreme Court.
