To whom it may concern:
I am writing this e-mail to offer both praise and constructive criticism to your campaign.
I would like to commend Senator Dodd for the comments he directed to Bill O’Reilly. It was great to see that the Senator has the wherewithal to defend his decision to attend YearlyKos. Progressives like us know how O’Reilly distorts the truth to spread his venomous ideas, however it still takes courage to confront a man as powerful and misguided as O’Reilly. For speaking the truth and for standing up to a bully, you are to be commended.
I want to also praise your campaign for its use of technology to educate people about Senator Dodd. DTV and live blogging have been a great way to attract members of the online community to your web site. Those features brought me to your site a couple of months ago. I was so impressed by the Senator that I signed up to receive future updates over e-mail.
The problem is, I have not received more than a handful of updates. A couple of weeks ago Senator Dodd had a rally an hour away from my home as part of his River to River Tour of Iowa. Unfortunately, I didn't know that until I read about it in the newspaper after the fact.
Now, I don't want to make myself to sound important, but isn't it people like me you need to get on board? Let's face it, even here in campaign saturated Iowa, people like me are scarce. Not only am I aware of Senator Dodd and his stance on the issues, I am seriously considering supporting him in the Iowa Caucus. I have already indicated to you that I am interested in learning more since I signed up on your site. If you truly believe in your candidate, wouldn't you want me to know when and where I could see him speak?
Again, this is not about me. It is about people like me. Use the information you already have. Target Iowa and New Hampshire voters who have shown an interest. Build a base and convince people that Senator Dodd is a viable candidate.
Thank you for considering my thoughts.
