So, O'Reilly says we're all a bunch of haters. Hate, hate, hate, all the time. And he may be right: I really do "hate" right-wing assholes like O'Reilly. I would have to restrain myself from punching him the nose if he were standing right in front of me. That's pretty hateful, huh?
But what if O'Reilly's campaign to "destroy the DailyKos" were to have unintended consequences?
There's an old Madison Avenue axiom that "there's no such thing as bad publicity." Well, that old adage seems to be holding true, because, if you look at the site meter from the last several days, you will note a fairly obvious up-tick in traffic:

Now, I realize that this jump in traffic is not statistically significant in the greater scheme -- the site had over twenty-two-million visitors back in November, as compared with approximately thirteen million thus far for the month of July -- so it could just be a coincidence. It is interesting, however, that the strongest days for July coincide with the O'Reilly silliness.
Of course, a mention Stephen Colbert doesn't hurt either. But one led to the other, did it not?
So, let's all send Bill an email thanking him for the extra love.
