I sent an e-mail to WaPo "fashion writer" Robin Givhan in response to her article, "Hillary Clinton's Tentative Dip Into New Neckline Territory", after I read MissLaura's diary.
I got this e-mail today:
I'd like to use this in my staff newsletter. Where do you live _ just the
town? I always put that in. I am writing about this Sunday.

This is the original e-mail I sent the reporter, and copied to the ombusman:
I am sending you a copy of the e-mail I sent Robin Givhan regarding her
story, "Hillary Clinton's Tentative Dip Into New Neckline Territory:"
I am having difficulty understanding the point of your article today on Ms. Clinton's clothing choice. It is utterly inane. The only reason I can think of to explain this discussion is an attempt on your part to attack Ms. Clinton as a serious political candidate. Please understand that I am no Clinton supporter; I regard her as "Republican-Lite" and plan to work to support John Edwards. But clearly she is a serious candidate, and your characterization of her clothing as being analogous to a male candidate having his fly unbuttoned is ludicrous. You should be embarrassed to have
your byline on this work.
I'm not sure what she's going to do with this; apparently it's going around to the staff? Is she going to use this as an example of something to be careful about, or is my letter just good for a laugh? I'm not sure what her take on this is; her initial response (same day I sent it) was just to comment something to the effect that. "Ms. Givhan often inspires angry responses." Ms. Givhan, to her credit, also responded quite promptly; something to the effect that, "I am never embarrassed by what is under my byline."
