I had to sell my YearlyKos registration because I have to work. So I just had the bright idea to bring the convention to me. well, maybe a small part anyways.
I have a restaurant in Chicago called FEED, we have a small patio, seats about 50. I'm willing to provide unlimited sweet tea and lemonade (we're BYOB, bourbon makes a fine addition to an Arnie Palmer)and snacky food from my restaurant in exchange for a fifteen dollar check made out to "John Edwards Campaign". I tried to get John to come, but the scheduling department said they don't know yet. And I sent an er-mail to Joe Trippi, but I doubt if he'll show because I also sent a dissenting note regarding the Gonzales resignation petition. C'est la vie. Let him consider it a challenge to see who'll provide the most bang for the least buck.
I'm not sure of the legalities, but if Oprah can charge $2,300 to get into her place for Obama, why can't I charge $15 to get into mine.
I'm thinking 8-10pm, I'm not sure if that conflicts with YKos scheduling or not.
BTW, there's a great little bar next door that's open til 4 AM for the diehards amongst you.
I'll do it if there's enough interest shown, say 25 people.
