Apologies in advance to dial-up users, there's a ton of photos here.
I gotta say, I'm sick and tired of all this BO bullshit. In looking through my comments, I noticed that lately I've been posting mainly in YR-related diaries.
Yeah. I'm that excited. I've never been to Chicago without an adult supervision. I've never seen the sites of Chicago, instead being stuck with old relatives who want to say, "Don't you think she looks like Aunt Helen's baby?" Nevermind that Aunt (pronounced "ain't") Helen's "baby" is 40 years older than me. Or neighbors who say, "Hey, are you a Williams? You got that Williams butt (or cheeks)." So, I'm more than looking forward to hanging out with people who not only share my political views, but won't recognize my lineage via my ass.
Last year, I volunteered to help put together YK. It was a lot of work and I'm still stunned we pulled it off. I promptly left the YK organization (don't laugh) to spend time with my family. Believe me, everyone in my household is grateful for that.
Got the pics below...
Despite not being able to actually enjoy the convention, I had a blast and it was awesome to meet people like old friends, when you're meeting them for the first time. I've been going through my YK flickr page. Since the convention, I've deleted about 150 pics from the page. On my hard drive, I have 756 photos taken that whole week I was there. Here's a few of them:
Here are the rockin' volunteers putting together the registration bags and materials. Everyone was so organized and I can't believe how fast they stuffed those bags.
This shot is about half the reg bags finished.
Thurs. night, there was a Mojo Mixer. Here's a shot of the room with the ridiculously tiny (but affordable) YK sign. Hopefully, the YK people were able to buy much bigger signs this year. HA!

The StreetProphets table. Nice quilt, huh? You can read all about the quilt (the one in the back), this year's quilt (the one in the front) and next year's quilt here.
Gratuituous photo of me and Ambassador Wilson. I asked him if I could take a photo with me. At that moment, my mobile rang and I actually answered it (out of character for me, as I usually ignore it). He just looked at me and whoever took the picture said, "You're actually talking on your cell phone while Joe Wilson is standing right there?!?!" I didn't even say goodbye to the person on the other end. I just clicked off. That explains the goofy smile.

My left foot. Me and emptywheel bare our soles. Yes, that made me laugh.

Well, that's about it. You can see more pics on my flickr page or visit the YearlyKos 2006 flickr page. Why don't you post some of your favorite photos from YK06.
