Although I spend a great deal of time following the news online, I have been reduced to helpless frustration by the inability of our Congress to determine and/or explain what the BushCo gang has done in the area of domestic spying. This diary is a plea for clarification. If any of you have an explanation for what is known and not known by the congressional leadership, please post replies. My questions follow.
- Did the Bush administration engage in illegal activities apart from the known wiretapping "program" revealed by the New York Times?
- Has the Bush administration explained the nature and scope of all post-9/11 domestic surveillance activities to Democratic members of Congress?
- If the surveillance activities that have not been publicly disclosed violate our laws, are not the members of Congress obliged to stop them?
- Do Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid know of undisclosed illegal activities ordered by Bush that are crimes or impeachable offenses?
