NOTE: I'm the Clinton campaign's Internet Director
Last night, there was an announcement at YearlyKos that Hillary would not conduct a breakout session after the Presidential Leadership Forum. Attendees who were under the impression that they had signed up to see Hillary were understandably upset. The organizers posted a diary last night clarifying what happened.
Our campaign made clear over a week ago that Hillary would be participating in the forum but would not be able to make the breakout session. Ann Lewis, a senior advisor to the campaign and the director of women's outreach, was due to conduct the breakout. However, after seeing the mix-up, and knowing that the organizers have worked very hard to pull together a great event, Hillary asked her staff to rearrange her schedule and we have been working with the organizers since early this morning to work out the details.
Hillary will now join the breakout session for a good portion of the time. Ann Lewis and other senior staffers will conduct the remainder of the session.
Please check with the organizers for new details of the session.
We look forward to seeing you in Chicago!
UPDATE: I apologize for not being able to respond in the comments - as you can imagine, I've been busy today and am eager to get out to Chicago. Unfortunately I may miss my own panel later today, but will be participating in Hillary's breakout session tomorrow. And again, I'd like to thank Gina Cooper and the other organizers for working so hard to pull this together. Miscommunications and misunderstandings happen, but the important thing is the opportunity for all of us to spend time together working to bring about positive change.
