(Let me clear about the title. This is NOT the angle TPM is putting on this. It's mine. But I wanted to include the reference source in the title since I didn't find the flier myself. The overall gist of the TPM story is summed up quite well by sherlyle but I'm posting this because it just stands out.)
The article on TPM actually deals with the flier that one man received seeking to clarify his status/support for the Republican party, which in turn ends up being a donation pitch.
But within the first page of the sales pitch, there is a key phrase that some have noticed, including myself, which really needs to be seen/read to be believed.
If you want, you can view the 5 page scan of the flier (this being page 1) which provides this warning:
Are you a Republican?
Our records show that you registered as a member of our Party in Schuler County, MO. But a recent audit of your party affiliation turned up some irregularities.
That's why I've enclosed you Republican Party Voter Verification/Audit Form, which I ask you complete and return to me today.
You see, I'd like to set your record straight as soon as possible. If we don't, we risk Hillary Clinton as President with Bill Clinton as the power behind the throne. (emphasis mine)
...
The flier goes on but I feel we can safely stop here and ask a couple questions.
Does the Republican Party view the Office of President of the United States as an office to be occupied by a Democratically elected individual who represents a majority of voters taking part in a Presidential election?
Or does the Republican Party view the Office of President of the United States as a throne, the seat to absolute power and control over the greatest, strongest, and most powerful nation on the face of the Earth?
Does the fact that one political party actually view this office as "a throne" not worry anybody else?
And lastly, is America a Democracy or a kingdom? I'm like to hear your thoughts so have it and be sure to give TPM some love, too
