Dan Rather, who was relegated to the sidelines a while back after being force-fed a bogus story, is back with a vengeance. And guess what? He's actually behaving like a reporter. Now on hd.net, he's free to practice what journalists should practice, investigative journalism.
How do you rig an election? Well, aside from the obvious things like registering voters out of the graveyard, denying access to the polls and disenfranchising blocks of voters, there are a myriad of ways.
There has been a lot of controversy over voting machines and their horrible security problems and many voices, including that of California Secretary of State, Debra Bowen, are raised up against them. The solution to voting machines for many people is to go back to paper.
But Dan Rather went a little further back. To the roots. The 2000 election. And he found that there are ways to tamper with paper. Last night, he did an hour-long report on voting fraud that is a must see for everyone who draws breath in the United States.

This report is illuminating and documented, just like the old fashioned journalism we once took for granted. But it symbolizes something even more important to me:
Dan Rather is back.
