I call him C. Bob or Congressman Bob, much to the horror of some of the more conservative Democrats here in my county.
I can't help it. He's the kind of man who will put you at ease and even call you back himself. It takes a long time to get an appointment with him sometimes but you will have his undivided attention when you meet him. He is there for his constituents.
What more can you ask for?
I hear some people disagree with his conservatism. Where I'm from that 'conservative' means you practice restraint. You take time to compare new with old and see which one works better. The (-R)thuglicans forgot that part of 'conservative' ... but I digress. Congressman Etheridge knows his constituents and although our demographics are changing, he is still there for his people. All of them. I could be wrong but I can't imagine him turning away anyone - even a ... you know. (One of them)
Here's why I'm writing today:
Shape Up or Don't Ship it, Reps Tell Exporters
"We need total transparency from the countries that import food into this country," said Etheridge, a Democrat from Lillington and member of the House agriculture committee. "They need to have the same standards we do. Otherwise, we're going to have to say 'Folks, this market's closed to you because the safety of our people is more important.' "
********You Go, C. Bob!*************
I've got your back.
What has your Congressman done for you lately? It's time to stop bitchin' and start to pitch in.
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
