A great day for a war protest in Kennebunkport - even without Bush in residence.
Several thousand people attended a protest against the Iraq war in K'port Maine today. It was a beautiful hot & humid late summer day on the seacoast.
The Raging Grannies travelled to sing some amazing songs of protest,
Cindy Sheehan spoke to the crowds with her powerful message to bring our sons and daughters home NOW.
Carlos and Melinda Arrendondo were so moving as they spoke of their son who died in Iraq on this day in 2004.
Congressman Dennis Kucinich was in attendance and after a 4 mile march to the Bush compound the Indigo Girls gave a rousing set for the tired & very thirsty crowd.
Many others shared their stories and there was a large group from Veterans Against the War as well as the Iraq Vets Against the War.
There are many other protests planned across the country this fall. If you can attend one or more please get out and show our stand against this despicable administration by our presence. Bring your kids - tell them how important it is to protest when we know how desperately we need a regime change.
