Lipinski, Kirk seek accord on Iraq
Bipartisan tack touts Study Group proposals

[...] Republican Mark Kirk and Democrat Dan Lipinski, will join forces Monday to discuss the "path forward" in Iraq with a focus on the long-shelved recommendations of the Iraq Study Group [...] including political benchmarks for the Iraqi government and a goal, but no requirement, of U.S. troop withdrawals beginning next year. Lipinski is one of the bill's four original sponsors. [...]

I guess Lipinski's 0% score from Planned Parenthood, and his votes with the Republicans on stem-cell research, the Terri Schivo case, Iraq war funding, and the FISA bill weren't enough. He decided to really give them a hand by giving cover to Mark Kirk, and at the same making sure we stay in Iraq as long as possible.
I know there has been some discussion on this blog as to if, and how much, we should be jumping in on these races. Well, consider me officially jumped in. Last Thursday my group, Northside DFA, endorsed Mark Pera for Lipinski's seat, and we will be out canvassing on Saturday for him. Though we haven't done an official vote on Dan Seals yet, many of our group members are already out working on his behalf, and we are organizing a canvass for him next Sunday. If you live on Chicago's north side and want to carpool with us, you can sign up and get more details at http://www.dfalink.c...
And if you live elsewhere, call up these campaigns and ask what you can do to help. Enough is enough.
