When I was a kid Saturday Morning Cartoons were a ritual. It meant sleeping in, then sitting around in PJ's on the floor in front of a box with Gray scale images flashing across the screen.. Mickey Mouse was one of those images..
As a grown woman, I have put away childish things...
this how it developed:

I introduced the hypocritter on a Monday (couldn't wait till Saturday!)
The Mascot of the Neo-cons, image restored (with poll, updated!)

Every party has it's mascot or symbol! For Democrats it's the donkey. For Republicans it's the elephant. I haven't researched the rest of the images connected to other parties, because I have been driven mad by knowledge no person should have to carry alone. We, here at Daily Kos (and at Choice Changes ), have suspected for years that the real machine behind the current administration isn't a known party.
While strolling past the rose garden the other day I happened to glimpse the real mascot of the current power structure.
Behold: The Hypocritter!

Next came the hypocritter family:

This morning I'm posting the unholy family. Hypocritter himself and his Parents. The poll last week Christianisted (as opposed to christened) the mascot of the unnamed party in power as Karl Jr., So unless a better name comes along, Karl Jr. it is.
The scene in cartoon takes place sometime in the distant past.
In it, Karl Jr, like a teenage boy asking to use the family car, is asking Mom (The Republican Party) and Dad (an unknown Neo-Con)to "borrow the Country". Dad answers, "Sure, son, just have it back in time for the elections!"

Do you know the saying 'What would Jesus do?' In the following, a slightly different question is asked:

I was inspired for this week's Saturday Morning Political Cartoon when marykk made this statement last week.
Maybe the question is "Who would torture Jesus?"
Who indeed! After all, Jesus was a dark skinned Semite, who was outspoken, very visible, and lived in the middle east. Today he could have easily been one of the people rounded up for Abu Ghraib.

I know it's only morning for a few more minutes in Hawaii, but I've made it!
This Saturday Morning Political Cartoon shows the serious infection (Foleyculitis) of our Capitol in Washington and implies the much needed surgery to help drain the infections.
Look below and bring your gag bags...

Last week I realized the real name of the Party for which the Hypocritter is the mascot!
It's not the Hypocrisy party.. It's the
HypoChristy party!
Here's the Hypocritter giving advice to Congress again, but it's really hard for Congress to hear with that thROBBING headache:

Filing a Freedom of Information Act request, I was able to discover the existence of another hypocritter, recently declassified from Home Land Security's science documents. It was kept top secret for oblivious reasons. This creature is the Mascot of the Propaganda Branch of the HypoChristy party. It's one of those 'man beasts' the current pResident is so afraid will be created from stem cell research.

Saturday Morning Political Cartoon, Pick a Finger! (w/ poll)

This nation is controlled by the HypoChristy party. Posing as Republicans and Christians, they have fed 'we the people' a DIE it of Propacandy. It's time for a change of menu.
What matters now is that we, as American citizens, regain our government. We have an opportunity to strip the Hypocritter of his governmental duds, and turn him out into the wild imagination, where he belongs.
(I digitally redrew the outline on the naked hypocritter, to make it easier to see. Also there's a couple more cartoons on that Nov 4th SMPC...
This is as far as I could get with this retrospective, and be able to post it on time for today's cartoon party..
Share your retrospective!! What were you creating last fall?
This is cross posted at Choice Changes.
