This is one of the hardest diaries I've ever written.
And in all candor the fact that this needs to be said, and this diary needs to be written, is truly unspeakable. It should frighten all of us, that the American president is about to veto healthcare legislation for children and babies.
But this is our surreal American reality. This is the America George Bush and his gang of Republicans criminals have created.
You may remember that Mr. Bush had a beloved baby sister named Robin. Robin died in infancy. She had leukemia.
And in this diary, sadly I must invoke the memory of the death of Robin, the younger sister of Mr. Bush. This is the man who intends to veto a healthcare bill for children and babies just like Robin Bush.
But remember, Robin Bush was a lucky child. She was born into a very privileged special American family. As a member of this family, you get healthcare and your friends get healthcare.
And yes, this is the same family that sends the beloved children of others to fight their illegal wars. This is not a patriotic war fighting family. In this chickenshit chickenhawk family, you join the National Guard then go AWOL.
This is some family. The rules that most of us live by, don't apply to this family.
But let's return to the story of Robin Bush, her leukemia and the treatment the Bush family obtained for their beloved child.
This is also about her brother, George, who shamelessly ran for president as a Compassionate Conservative. And who even more grotesquely promotes this crap on the official White House web site.
This is Robin's story.
Their first child, a boy, named George Walker Bush was born a few short years later. On December 20, 1949, a daughter, Pauline Robinson Bush was born. They called her Robin. In 1950, Mr. Bush moved his family to west Texas to a town called Midland.
Jeb, the next son was only a few weeks old when Mrs. Bush noticed something strange in her daughter. Robin woke one morning and was undecided as to what to do. She stated that she might just lie on the grass and watch the cars go by or maybe just stay in bed. Mrs. Bush noticed that this was strange behavior for a three year old. She took her to Dr. Dorothy Wyvell to be examined and had blood drawn. Dr. Wyvell told Mrs. Bush to bring Mr. Bush back the next day, but to leave Robin at home. They were told that Robin had leukemia. The doctor advised them to take her home an to let her quietly slip away while keeping her comfortable and loving her.
Mr. Bush was unwilling to give up that quickly. He called his uncle, Dr. John Walker, at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York City. They left Midland and took Robin to the hospital for treatment. The Bush's stayed at the Walker's apartment on Sutton Place in New York off and on until October 1953 when Robin passed away.

This is what ordinary American parents face.
I know there are millions of parents throughout the United States who would also do anything to save a beloved child. If they had the resources of the Bush Family, these frightened parents would take their precious children to the finest doctors money can buy. But tragically, many of these parents don't have the means of the Bush Family and now, they won't even have health insurance.
These are words from the Compassionate Conservative mother of George and the late Robin Bush. She wants you to know, that she and her husband are good people. This is what is called lip service bullshit.
The official White House web site has a biography of Robin and George's mother, Barbara Bush. Barbara says about herself and her husband, George H.W. Bush as follows:
When her husband was away, she became the family linchpin, providing everything from discipline to carpools. The death of their daughter Robin from leukemia when she was not quite four left George and Barbara Bush with a lifelong compassion. She says, "Because of Robin, George and I love every living human more."
Barbara, I beg you to talk to your soulless son. This veto is too depraved even for his Republican colleagues.
If you're reading this diary and want to help the children Mr. Compassionate Conservative believes don't deserve to live, I've been advised that these are some of the wavering Congresspeople you should contact.
The House switchboard is (202) 224-3121.
Below is a list of the 94 more promising targets (about 60 additional Republicans are needed for the bill to be vetoproof), but everyone needs to be pressured.
I'll leave the Bush Family with a passage from Scripture. You might also want to quote Scripture to some of these fine God-fearing monsters Congresspeople.
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
¶ Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Is. 61.2
¶ Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Ps. 37.11
¶ Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Is. 55.1, 2
¶ Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
¶ Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Ps. 24.4, 5
¶ Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
¶ Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: 1 Pet. 3.14 for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Thank you for reading and thank you for calling.
