I hate to bring up ancient history so old that I remember it and I'm only 33 years old, but if the republican party claims we've "been at war with Iran since 1979," could I trouble any of the bobble-head actors playing newspaper reporters on T.V. and in our major newspapers to ask the obvious question:
If republicans feel we're at war with Iran and have been since 1979, and that Iran is one of the vilest regimes on earth, why did they send them millions of dollars in illegal arms shipments in 1986?
I think this is a valid question, don't you?
When trapped into watching Faux Noise for a few minutes on my JetBlue flight (Faux and the pablum "Headline News" are the only news stations that the supposedly "liberal" JetBlue runs on its TVs at night, no CNN and no MSNBC), I watched the brilliant juxtaposition:
A Breaking News story on the Amadinejad visit to New York. A report on the evils of Iran.
Then a return to "War Stories" on FoxNews, hosted by... wait for it... Oliver North.
So in FauxLand, Iran is a horrible nation, perhaps the vilest on earth, so lets hire those who sold Iran arms in the 1980s to host patriotic news programs.
So where is our media?
Why doesn't anyone discuss the highly illegal and corrupt Reagan administration financing of the Iranian war machine in the 1980s?
Because to do so would be Un-Serious and Un-Sober. And our wise Beltway Elite don't sully themselves with such rude accusations like pointing out that, by their own logic, the republican party has committed one of the great acts of treason of the past thirty years.
Why, that would be uncouth.
to call the republican party "treasonist"? Why, that's as rude as a newspaper ad in the New York Times!!
In conclusion, you people in the mainstream media are beyond pathetic. I'd smack each and every one of you with a white glove and challenge you to a duel for failing to point out basic truisms about this fraudulent corrupt fungus we call the republican party.
