The Minneapolis Star Tribune is reporting that the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is going to begin installing new stall dividers to try to end the infamous rendezvouses.
Is it just me, or would this kind of thing have made more sense (and cost less money) than an undercover sting operation?
Details below.
From the article:
Airport officials plan to put in new stall dividers just 2 to 3 inches above the floor, instead of as much as a foot now. The new dividers will go in two bathrooms where the airport has had complaints about sex, including the one where Craig was arrested.
I've never understood why the dividers don't go to the floor to begin with, especially in airports, what with security concerns and all. Plus, I've had some messy neighbors.
In the article they also give some more details about the problems they've had in two of the main bathrooms:
One of the people arrested over the summer told police he had four sexual encounters in three hours, and it was only on his fifth approach that someone objected, Hogan said.
Any takers that that fifth time was a cop?
Oh, and while I remember, it seems that now that the bathroom has become a tourist attraction complaints and online arrangements have decreased. Go figure.
