The annual National Book Festival is taking place on the National Mall tomorrow in Washington, D.C. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Will any other Kossacks be there? More details below!
This will be my third National Book Festival. It is an amazing opportunity for book lovers to meet numerous authors from a variety of fiction and nonfiction genres including: Home and Garden, Children and Teens, Mysteries and Thrillers, Fantasy and Science Fiction, History and Biography, and Poetry.
Over 70 authors attend each year. Many have readings or discussion and then sign books...sometimes for hours. I frequently bring several books by each author of interest for them to sign (for my personal library and gifts). I also have my favorite authors sign the event poster, which is suitable for framing.
I have been quite lucky, as several of my favorite authors have attended in the past years. This year, I will be looking forward to hearing from Terry Pratchett and Harry Turtledove. Also attending will be Washington Post columnist David Ignatius.
If you don’t like those folks, then come mock Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who will be signing his new book.
Who would you like to see? Anyone want a signed book? I think signed books make interesting gifts!
