I have a certain image in my mind about certain television personalities. Some are people I now dismiss as mouthpieces to one or the other political bias. Some I viewed as still untainted by this era's Post-Fairness-Doctrine environment and being a reporter means to "report" and not to use their moment on camera to advance some political agenda.
Today, CNN's Rob Marciano tumbled several pegs from Weather "Journalist" ... to Rush Limbaugh freak wannabe. And it's a sad day for me because of that.
The story was a UK school that has decided that a disclaimer will now have to be shown before Al Gore's "Inconvenient Truth" can be shown to a class room. Kiran Chetry was coming out of that story, and about to throw to Marciano when off camera you hear this obnoxious, loud clapping and jeering.
"Finally! Yeah! Finally" Marciano gloated as he clapped his hands as a 7th grade dodge ball player.
Kiran seemed either shocked, or played shocked as previously dicussed - I couldn't tell. Rob then went on to explain in full propaganda form that winning Oscars was nice, but warning people about the connection between hurricanes and global warming was his beef.
Ok ... first of all ... do we now need a disclaimer before school kids should be allowed to view a CNN weather report by this snot nosed, inexperienced fool?
And secondly ... since when does CNN become the platform for political grandstanding?
I immediately fumbled my way to the "CONTACT US" button and submitted my seething complaint to whomever reads those stupid things. If there's a more direct address to which I can register my anger, I would greatly appreciate knowing what it is. And if it angers you to know that CNN American Morning has become a clearning house for confederate talking points, I wish you would do the same.
