Besides the obvious, what do Rush Limbaugh and swiftboat financierianancer, Sam Fox, have in common?
Anyone?
Anyone?
Horshack?
When called on the carpet for what they said, supported or did, instead of apologizing, they call them a hero.
Sam Fox when confronted by John Kerry for his financial support for Swift Boat Veterans for Truth:
Senator Kerry, I very much respect your dedicated service to this country," said Fox. "I know that you were not drafted -- you volunteered. You went to Vietnam. You were wounded. Highly decorated. Senator, you're a hero. And there isn’t anybody or anything that's going to take that away from you.
Rush Limbaugh on the VoteVets ad by Brian MccGough:
Ah, you know this is such a blatant use of a valiant combat veteran. Lying to him about what I said . . . this man will always be a hero to this country, with everyone.
Notice the similarities?

So we've now gotten the script Republicans will use when confronted by veterans about what they've said and/or supported. Instead of apologizing, they praise the veteran as a hero. . . with EVERYONE.
They will just never admit what they did and NEVER apologize.
The ad:
To see Rush's response to the VoteVets ad go to Countdown: Veteran Responds To Limbaugh Comparing Him To Suicide Bomber
Addendum:
Everything above this paragraph, including the intro, was written and placed in my DailyKos dairy draft space yesterday. I couldn't post it because I already had posted yesterday
Honoring veterans while slandering (and never apologizing) has been noticed by VoteVets too. This morning Brandon Friedman observed When Chickenhawks Attack:
Watkins: Tamron, these veterans who are out there are heroes and we honor their service to this country.
(Author’s [Friedman] note: They always set up the slander by "honoring" us.)
Also, yesterday, Rush Limbaugh denied that he ever compared Brian McGough to a suicide bomber.
