Hi folks. I'm the Communications Director for Larry Kissell who's running against Robin Hayes in North Carolina's 8th District.
Yesterday Robin Hayes quite inadvertantly reminded his constituents, that no matter how many times he's succumbed to Bush arm-twisting over their interests during the years, they were at least always on his mind.
His explanation for turning his back on the children of working families and voting against SCHIP carried the very lyrical title:
"Jobs, Economic Development and More Opportunity for the 8th District ARE ALWAYS ON MY MIND"
Who do you think is more believable when he says you were always on his mind?
Elvis?
Maybe I didnt treat you
Quite as good as I should have
Maybe I didnt love you
Quite as often as I could have
Little things I should have said and done
I just never took the time
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind...
Or Robin Hayes?
"Every time I drive through Kannapolis and I see those empty plants I know there is no way I could vote for CAFTA," Hayes said. [AP 7/14/2005]
Hayes: "What does CAFTA sound like? NAFTA," he said. "It's not in the best interests of a core constituency I represent." Raleigh News and Observer, 7/14/2005]
"I am flat-out, completely, horizontally opposed to CAFTA," Hayes said. [Charlotte Observer, 7/25/2005]
He was the deciding vote FOR CAFTA and now he's telling you he's against SCHIP expansion because you are always on his mind.
I vote Elvis, and hope you'll join me in supporting the health of our kids and Larry Kissell for Congress.
