By now, I assume that you've all heard about the Martin Lee Anderson travesty. Bascially, a 14-year old African-American boy was savagely beaten by 7 guards after committing the unspeakable crime of refusing to run during a drill excercise. He then died of suffocation after the guards forced him to inhale ammonia fumes. All seven guards were recently acquitted of the aggravated manslaughter. Naturally, decent minded people are upset. Others, not so much.
NewsBusters, which oddly didn't seem to care about the concept of "innocent until proven guilty" before, feels its worth mentioning that people still think the guards might still be guilty. Of course, no one is advocating that we imprison the guards without a fairly obtained conviction, as NewsBusters has done in the past for terror suspects. We're just a tad skeptical.
The true colors of their readers can be seen by this comment:
This is nothing more than the Duke rape case being acted out on a different stage with different actors. It's purely a racial thing in which the evil white people are being blamed for crimes against a defenseless black person. More sugar!
Strange, I don't remember the Duke Lacrosse case having video evidence to back up the charges. But besides that, it's nothing short of appalling to use an isolated event like the Duke Lacrosse case to claim that all alleged brutality against blacks in America is fictionalized. Yet, this is a theme we see frequently in right-wing reactions to this case.
Surprisingly, there are some nominally sane people over at the FreeRepublic who agree that the guards should be convicted with something if not aggravated manslaughter. But the ugliness of wink wink nudge nudge racism hangs over the thread like heavy smog:
Sounds like dem evil honkie jurors got some payback fo dat O.J. trial.

Look whats come out of California. Probably a lot of looting in Florida tonight, sorry I meant peaceful protesting.

THe media are in the business of inciting racial hatred.
I like that last one. You see, merely pointing out racial injustice "incit[es] racial hatred" in the eyes of some on the right.
To be honest, I was actually impressed with the Freepers on this one. Stormfront, however, well...
You better believe the protest is coming, but whites shouldnt sit idly by and watch these blacks march against our justice system. They should apply for citizenship to an African country and find a justice system more suitable to negroes.

I agree the twin turds jesse and al will stear clear of this. It's not really a 'race' issue anyway (except for the sickle-cell!).
Aside from the fact that an lifelong criminal larvae was culled, I can't say I like the tone events coming from public corrections. From the AP source, it sounds like the faculty did not recognize a medical emergency and physically endangered their charge. If the child were white, and was having a stroke or unknown diabetes etc., I wouldn't think the guards had no liability.
However without any real information we don't know if he was trying to fight them or what gave them grounds to do something described as 'beating' to him. AP wants the reader to believe that he was assaulted for no real reason, since of course they did not supply a real reason.
In the case of fledgling negro, we know age 14 is about 16-19 in people years, but the rule of law we are bound to does not recognize this, so anything they can do to him they can do to yours.

I bet this young nog's "undiagnosed sickle cell trait" never slowed him down during his criminal acts that led up to his incarceration. By 14 he was already a hardened criminal. His early departure to his eternal burning reward may allow some one else to live their life in peace. I don't believe that blacks really have a 'childhood', just a period where they are smaller, weaker animals. Negroids live at a level of wickedness and evil unimaginable to decent people, they long to practice their savage cruelty on innocent white people. Their actions justify what ever corrective measures we may take against this hellish breed of devil spirited apes.
...they're just being Stormfront as always (love the Ron Paul ads BTW).
I find it sad how much legitimate struggles for racial equality and against authoritarian abuses are widely seen as "whining" and "race baiting" by many on the right. They seem to live in an Orwellian world where anti-racist action is "playing the race card" and protesting government brutality is "thuggish." I sometimes think that if MLK was still alive today, he would be accused of being a "race pimp" all the time by these self-anointed guardians of civility.
