To personify the GOP might be a good exercise. I think the GOP can be personified as Karl Rove so who do you think he would want to run against and could he have anything to do with all these polls showing Hillary leading by 20 points.
If I were the GOP, among the top three, I'd first want against Obama. Although people like me will gather round him and work for him even though I think he's the disaster candidate, Obama has shown nothing but an stance against the war when he was a local Illinois politician who didn't have to vote. Everything after that has been so so at best.
After Obama, I'd want to run against Hillary and maybe she's first. She will be tough in debates and she has a lot of presidential class, unlike Bush who has no class. However, every comedy writer in the country will remind us of everything, even those many things that were untrue. Bill as First Lady, the billing records, Vince Foster and her alleged affair with him, Hillary Rodham, Loretta Lynn and a constant barrage of nasty bullshit.
Al Gore, sounds like they'd never want to run against him but he got beaten by a schmuck. Yes there are reasons, media reasons and his stupid story about his poor sister dying of cancer while he was so broken up at the same time his family owned a tobacco farm. Al Gore acts weird. When he gives speeches he goes into his diabolical looking mode that makes him look arrogant and very pseudo-intellectual. I love him but people don't. People didn't in 2000.
For me John Edwards would be the worst. He is cool, he is smart, he handles himself great in a debate (remember the debate with Cheney) and most of all he is pissed. He is pissed because he underestimated the Republican evil and he is pissed that his wife might leave her children in another Republican Administration.
Tell us what you would think if you were Karl Rove.
