We are our biggest problem. Talk about the respect issue.
For those of you who need to go, the bumper sticker synopsis is above, but I really am asking for help in the form of editorial review.
About a year ago, I wrote this essay/post on the web site of my friend, oz.
Although it may not seem like much, it is the tip of my iceberg, something I think about every day, and have thought about every day for about twenty years.
I never wanted to write a book or produce a movie, only re-visit a simple idea that has been with us a long time, but which is now so very important.
How can we possibly solve any of our problems unless we recognize the one big problem at the root of all the other problems?
We don't fight a disease without studying or naming the process that causes all the symptoms.
So please, take the journey through the link to the old abandoned post.
If you would come back and let me know what you think, I would be very grateful, especially if you can give me ideas on how to connect on this issue, or better yet, if you come up with your own way to spread the word and help name the problem.
Sometimes, I do have hope that some leaders are turning again toward this age old issue.
Gore also spoke in terms of the world nearing a point in which it worked together to solve common problems, the climate crisis chief among them. And this is what sealed the deal for me. It was clear from his speech, and from the Q&A that followed, that Gore believes his greatest value is in leading the world toward common solutions to common problems, which will result in the betterment of humanity.
Cheers and thanks.
