This will be a short diary because I am more interested in the feeling of the DailyKos community than in discussing my own thoughts on the matter.
In light of the arrests of three CodePink members at a Congressional hearing today, I wanted to poll the community on the usefullness of this type of civil disobedience. So, please let me know what you think...
For the sake of filling in the body of the diary, here are some links to the key concepts:
The Code Pink homepage.
Previous diaries about today's CodePink action are here and here
The Wikipedia entry for Civil Disobedience
The wonderful essay by Henry David Thoreau "On the Duty of Civil Disobedience" - (required reading)
And, finally, a simple question for discussion: If Rosa Parks or Mahatma Gandhi or Desmond Tutu were able to get their oppressors in front of a Congressional Committee Hearing, would they then disrupt that hearing?
Update [2007-10-24 19:31:17 by Terrapin]: PS: Can anybody name the movie from which the last poll option is taken?
