Well, well, well... it seems that the terrorist attaqué dejour in NYC last week was a load of crap, and the soda can contained....soda!
Think about this for a few minutes, people:
...more below!
"President Bush backed New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's decision to announce the threat publicly, despite questions by some federal officials about its credibility.
"Our job is to gather intelligence and pass them on to local authorities, and they made the judgments necessary to respond," the president told reporters."

On October 6, while New Yorkers were worrying about being blown up again, the president says this in a national address:
"Recently our country observed the fourth anniversary of a great evil, and looked back on a great turning point in our history. We still remember a proud city covered in smoke and ashes, a fire across the Potomac, and passengers who spent their final moments on Earth fighting the enemy. We still remember the men who rejoiced in every death, and Americans in uniform rising to duty. And we remember the calling that came to us on that day, and continues to this hour: We will confront this mortal danger to all humanity. We will not tire, or rest, until the war on terror is won."
...
"Overall, the United States and our partners have disrupted at least ten serious al Qaeda terrorist plots since September the 11th, including three al Qaeda plots to attack inside the United States. We've stopped at least five more al Qaeda efforts to case targets in the United States, or infiltrate operatives into our country. Because of this steady progress, the enemy is wounded -- but the enemy is still capable of global operations. Our commitment is clear: We will not relent until the organized international terror networks are exposed and broken, and their leaders held to account for their acts of murder."
And now we learn that it was a hoax...that originated in IRAQ!!! Slam dunk! Damned if ya do, damned if ya don't. Those Iraqi terrorists are really very very bad people. Not only do they want to blow us up, they want to make us look stupid.
OK, now here is what I would like us all to think about very hard: while Bush was delivering his speech, describing his resolve in this global struggle against a murderous enemy, New York was in chaos, complete with full hazard suits and guns everywhere. The source of the threat that gripped NY? Well, that's where it gets a little sketchy: BUT, we have been told by unidentified government officials that the informant who was questioned in Iraq, and believed to be from Pakistan, admitted "leading investigators astray".
New York mayor Bloomberg did exactly what he should have done after receiving notice of an intended attack via the FBI. Too bad he just got PUNK'D by Dubya, who's timing was perfect as usual.
