It's no secret that a lot of younger folks turn to The Daily Show for their dose of daily news, and as a gay man one of the things I've most appreciated about the show is Stewart's unabashed defense of gay people and his taking on the O'Reilly's and Michael Savages of the world. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that one of the reasons younger folks are so gay-supportive is because of The Daily Show.
In case you missed the news last week, Comedy Central put all of the clips of The Daily Show up on their archive (you couldn't watch them on YouTube) and AfterElton has gone through and pulled some of the best gay ones into an article about the show. They also provide some thoughtful takes on why Stewart does what he does and how he has shot down some idiots.
I can't disagree with their first choice which is when Stewart took on Bill Bennett over gay marriage. The single best moment of that was when Bennett agreed that same-sex marriage was coming and blamed it on the courts. Stewart got seriously pissed and said No, it's because it's the natural progression of human rights.
I love Stewart (his opening bit with George Clooney at the Oscars several years ago was the highlight of the show for me) and you can see the whole thing here.
