Are Republicans down the sewey-hole?

I don't think it is necessary to wait for things to get worse for the GOP.  Everything they have said or promised has had the opposite effect.

GOP in charge of the government...is like unto the deer in the headlights. That should be their logo!  Let's give the elephants a break. Some major natural or malicious force comes at USA and GOPs kind of stare off into the distance and waits for the geniuses at the AEI to figure it out.

As I mentioned before, one of the GOP's greatest natural resource has been what I call: Republican propangando-tainment.  It kept the nation amused, entertained, and feeling good about itself.  But the GOP public relations division has, at least right now, shall we say been perfected?

Characterwise, the Republican Party is shallow.  They are proud of this however!  But as the party to run things?  Are you nuts?  You want them in charge of business and the banking system?  Really??  Well - you've had them in charge.  And don't blame this on the Democrats.  The Democrats were being forced out of Texas by Tom DeLay in a small plane.

And Democrats  - a glimpse into the future -  a Democratic president is going to be bashed and demeaned every minute of the day.    On the Simpsons and the Family Guy and South Park there will be withering hilarious jokes about him/her.  David Letterman will be counting down the days until s/he retires. Doonesbury will draw him/her as a nervous nellie hat. Talk radio jockeys will be saying s/he is weak and gullible.  With everything they do they will be called weak or capitulating. And Karl Rove will become a panelist on This Week with George Stephanopoulis.

  I've wondered before what the results would be of a poll of this general form:

  Of the following candidates (list of Rs and Ds), whom would you trust the most to manage your 401-k?  Whom would you trust the least?
