Well, I couldn't attend (I'm babysitting), but am interested to know what happened with the supposedly BIG demonstrations against the Iraq war yesterday.
It poured in New England, but the Boston Globe reports over 10,000 participants...I had to search for the info as it was not on the front page of their paper...appeared on pg. B6!!
It wasn't on the front of the NY Times either. Hmmmmmm....guess these steady stalwarts of liberalism are changing.
Chicago reported it on their front page with a photo, but I can't remember what they said the turn-out was.
Orlando had around 100 people...shameful! (Coming from someone who didn't attend any demonstration, you can nix that reference to 'shame.')
San Francisco reported between 10,000 and 30,000 (one number reported by the paper and the other by organizers so I expect it's somewhere between those numbers.) They had sunshine yesterday!
Seattle reported it on their front page, but again, I can't remember the particulars about numbers.
Philly had very little info on it and the particulars escape. Looks like Boston and San Fran are the shining examples, but the Boston Globe has lost some of it's gloss in my eyes since they couldn't see fit to report it on the front page.
New Orleans doesn't have a major paper online...at least the Picayune isn't online and I think that's their flagship media outlet.
Well, looks like it wasn't banner day for the anti-war people! What does that mean? We really don't object to this war as much as the 2006 elections might have indicated? Nancy Pelosi and the Dems are correct. We are unsure what we REALLY want!? Maybe Bush has us all figured out and he's correct...we already know he's RIGHT!
What do YOU deduce from all this?
