I confess I did not change the world this weekend. There were no protests in town. I don't think I made the world a better place this weekend, perhaps I did no intentional harm? I stress intentional harm because we do damage automatically with no malice intended on a daily basis.
I decided to hit the River Arts Festival to hang with locals, and take a few pictures. I also bought a few pictures from actual photographers, it mystified my husband, I explained that one needs something to aim for.
I think there must be a city ordinance that prohibits any event happening without music. Of course we have to have jazz/R&B, country, and a little Dixieland. Other wise it just wouldn't be right or proper....
I think Memphians believe in a constitutional right to groove...
There was some might tight security because you never know when art terrorists might decide to invade and paint or draw things about subversive topics like democracy and free expression....
Some festival offerings...
Art was made before our eyes....
People also randomly watched people who were hanging out and watching people...
This last photo illustrates the concept that in the South, a porch is in the eye of the beholder...
Thanks for having a look. I would love to see any pictures you took recently of local happenings.
