The rumors have been confirmed. This morning on Unfiltered Rachel announced that the show's last day would be on 31 March (AAR's One-Year Anniversary), and that Jerry Springer would be replacing it in the 9AM-Noon EST shift.
Jerry Springer's radio show has been broadcast on 4 AAR stations (Cincinatti, Detroit, San Antonio and Miami) for a few months now, and will be expanding to 45 of the 51 current AAR affiliates, as well as XM, Sirius and the 24/7 internet stream.
Rachel did not say that she was leaving the network, which mayleave the door open for a new show in another timeslot on the network. The most likely possibilties being discussed have been:
- Replacing Janeane Garofalo on Majority Report, should her new sitcom become a conflict.
- A new weekend show, similar to the "Campaign Countdown" show that was broadcast Sunday mornings in the six weeks before the election.
In related news, there still has not been any word from former AAR board member, talent director, and Unfiltered co-host Lizz Winstead. It is believed that she was told of the Springer move, and she left the network in protest.
