Come on now, something about
this Farris Hassan story just doesn't ring true. You expect me to believe that while babies, senators and congressmen are ending up on no-fly lists for domestic U.S. flights, this unaccompanied, underaged, Iraqi-American teenager can get on a flight bound for Baghdad without anyone doing a double-take?
Then, once there, he just happens to walk into the offices of the Associated Press to volunteer as a reporter? Like they wouldn't immediately pick up on a story like that? This stunt has "Karl Rove orchestrated plant" written all over it.
Democracy-loving, Iraqi-American teenager, guilty over the economic advantages he enjoys at home, travels alone to Baghdad to fulfill his passion of helping the Iraqi people find freedom.
Farris Hassan is an instant media celebrity.
Sorry to sound like a stereotypical Democratic conspiracy theorist,
but seriously? Where did this teenager get the money to fly to Baghdad and put himself up in a hotel for three weeks, complete with meals, without his parents knowing a thing?
This, (along with the Baby Noor story that CNN and the rest of the MSM has become so infatuated with of late), have just happened to come along at the end of the worst year of Bush's presidency, with his poll numbers in the tank mostly over Iraq... and the American people are just sucking it up. If Samantha Jones from Sex and the City was going to dream up a publicity campaign to help Bushco's poll numbers, this would be it.
How convenient.
