Hey Californians...and other denizens of the seismically active West!
The earthquake tonight in northern California got me thinking. It was almost exactly 24 years ago that I experienced my first earthquake--the Borah Peak Earthquake, with its epicenter near Challis, Idaho. It was a big one, 7.0 on the Richter scale, but it did not do any real damage in the Boise Valley, where I lived. We sure felt it, though!
If you've been through an earthquake, which was the first one you remember? And what do you remember about it?
Vote in the poll for yor first quake. If your first isn't there, tell us about it in the comments.
