For the second time in a decade, Haiti's elected leadership is under threat tonight.
Haiti, which has no army, is being faced with a growing rebellion led by a former right-wing paramilitary leader.
Frankly, I find the current reaction from the State Department - that there is "no enthusiasm" to intervene - to be weak. Canada has already discussing sending in 100 police officers and the French government is holding planning meetings to determine what they're going to do about this.
This is a story that we all need to be following, because it will be a test of our nation's commitment to humanitarian intervention in our sphere of influence.
