Admiral Fallon: Hawkish Iran Rhetoric Not Helping

Boy do I love Admiral Fallon. From what I have seen so far he's one miltary officer that understands war does not solve all foreign policy issues (requires registration; It's FREE). This is the same Fallon that called Patreaus a "kiss ass".

But....., But....., But...., MoveOn.org is the meanie liberal organization that called General Patreaus "General 'Betray Us'". And my answer to that is who's word should mean more.....

  The general rule on flag rank officers is that ambition is their pole star.  The competition is too keen for those indifferent to rank to get ahead.  Further, there is a dynamic between seniors and their subordinates that keeps the younger guys from overtaking their elders and betters.  All of that said, history reveals that a number of great men have served this country with stars on collars, along with the sycophants and liars.  I like what this guy has had to say so far, but understanding what dues he paid to get where he is, his goals, and his habits, I would never trust him.
