Dr. Andrew Agwunobi, this man can win the Dems in November 2008
What if I told there was an individual that was CEO of a hospital and he ran that hospital into ground only to find himself subsequently running an even bigger hospital? What if I further told you that this same person than ran the bigger hospital into the ground as well? What if I told you that this bigger hospital was deemed by HHS to be
an immediate and serious threat to the health and safety of the patients
What if I told after running two hospitals into the ground this same individual moved cross country to now run a network of hospitals? What if I further told you that after only being in this new job for a year he moved back across country to now be on the board of another network of hospitals? What if I told you he only stayed a member of the board for six months? What if I even told you that after six months he cashed out one million dollars worth of options? What if I told you his next job was part of the state government? What if I told that only months after he left this network of hospitals the government bureau he now runs is among several that is investigating the network of hospitals he just left? Confused, interested, want to know more.
The man's name is Dr. Andrew Agwunobi. He first came on the radar at South Fulton Hospital, a small hospital that services poor folks in Atlanta, Ga. He got to the hospital and immediately following the JHOCA issued a report that gave his hospital the equivalent of a C-. He left two years later right before another report was issued and now the JCOHA issued failing grades. He happened to move onto Grady Hospital, a hospital that also services the poor however Grady is among the biggest hospitals of any sort in the nation. A year later the results of an HHS investigation about Grady came in. The conclusion was this
there is an immediate and serious threat to the health and safety of the patients
It doesn't get anymore damning than that so we would all be surprised to learn that his next job was COO of St. Joseph's Medical Center, a network of hospitals in California. Despite moving his entire family, including a young child, cross country he only stayed at this position for about a year.
He then moved back across country to Florida to serve on the board of Wellcare. He only stayed there for six months before cashing out one million dollars worth of options. This would merely be a peculiar and interesting though largely irrelevant story if not for his next job. He now runs the AHCA, which is Florida Dept. of Health bureau, that specializes in providing quality health care for the poor. Curious, given his less than stellar record in running hospitals that did the same. It is even more curious when you find out his brother John also worked for the State of Florida. It gets downright obscene when you find out that his agency, the AHCA, is now one of several investigating WelCare his most recent previous employer.
What does all of this mean? Well, it certainly means there is some corruption to be exposed in the REPUBLICAN administration in Florida. Depending on how well it gets exposed it will leave a black eye. Depending on how deep the wound is, it will make Florida that much more ripe for the Dems in 2008. If the Dems win Florida, they are almost assured of the Presidency.
Think it is too much to be true.

Don't just read the posts. Check out the links. See if they are sourced properly. Do your own research. Our "friends" in the MSM don't think that a habitual failure most likely pushed through by family being responsible for the health care of poor folks in the state of Florida is a big deal.
Daily Kos and your allies have the power to show them different.
