Hillary Clinton is the most likely Democratic nominee as she dwarfs her two hearest competitors, Barack Obama and John Edwards.
Perhaps it's a feeling of inadequacy, but these two feel like they must attack a woman in order to "look tough" and they have resorted to mudslinging and bully tactics to score points against her.
One is reminded of another male chauvinist politician, RICK LAZIO who had the gall to walk up to Hillary in a debate (for the 2000 Senate election) to make a sexist point by trying to bully her.

The fact is, is that John Edwards is an also-ran. Even though he was on the VP ticket with a very credible and strong candidate, he failed to carry a single Southern state for Kerry, even including his home state of North Carolina.
John Edwards' attacks on Hillary are very unbecoming of a Democratic candidate, he is stooping to slinging mud right out of the Republican playbook.
John Edwards and his supporters need to stop their shrill attacks on Hillary. Since she is the eventual nominee anyway, the attacks against her by her Democratic opponents will be used by the RethugliKKKlans as well in the general.
Some advice to John Edwards: he needs to stop being angry all the time, it's probably one of the reasons why he is running behind, the inevitable nominee, Hillary. It is not healthy to be angry all the time, it reminds one of Rush Limbaugh.
All Democrats should be mature and UNITE and have a more pleasant and dignified primary election season. There is nothing wrong by running against Hillary right now, but the attacks against her are very childish and Republican-like.
EDIT: I had a possible Edwards supporter change my diary tags to imply that I was (possibly?) being a snark. Nothing could be further from the truth. Although I am still open-minded at this stage about who I will vote for in the primary, I do concede that I am learning towards the most electable, and inevitable nominee and (first WOMAN) President of the Unites of America, HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON!!!
