Or add substance.
I'll add some substance.
Obama just made it possible for pundits to talk about how this all just Primary Politics for the Dems for the next week.
Thanks Barack.
Webb's not running for anyting. His resolution has been in committee since March. Get everyone on board there, and then all the pundits can talk about how Dems are standing up to Bush for once.

I actually thought the criticism that Barack Obama isn't doing enough to show his leadership in the Senate was legitimate.
Thank's for proving it's really not.
Take a moment to commend the man for his forceful language in the drafted resolution.
I do agree with the idea behind your post, though. Needs more substance.

Already on the table.
He can lead by co-sponsoring it and doing everything he can to make sure it gets to a vote.
By doing this the "It's all about Politics for the Dems" narrative gets going.

the fact that he has introduced this resolution and is a presidential candidate might make more people sit up and take notice. If nothing else it will certainly open up a dialogue. At the very least we will not be tricked into another war in the middle east.

Should not be a Politicized Issue for the Dems.
It'll make people sit up and take notice of how Dems Politicize Foreign Policy.
by Edgar08 on Thu Nov 01, 2007 at 09:39:25 PM PDT
sit up and take notice of exactly what our foreign policy is. I know Faux news, Limbaugh, and all the rest of the right wingnuts will rake Obama over the coals, but some who might listen might not think it is a reality yet, this might prove that it is and unless we want another war in the Mid-East someone should reign in this crazy president Bush.

They'll slime us no matter what we do. It's a fundamental component of their campaign strategy.

But it's better if when they slime us I can turn around say "That's not true."
With this Obama thing, I can't turn around with any confidence and proclaim loudly, "No this isn't a Primary Candidate trying to Co-opt an issue for Political Purposes."

With this Obama thing, I can't

I can't.
If you can say "No this isn't a Primary Candidate trying to Co-opt an issue for Political Purposes," more power to you.
If I tried to say that, I'd be lying. It's not what I believe.

...is whatever makes Clinton look good.
by maxomai on Thu Nov 01, 2007 at 10:51:33 PM PDT
But this can be said about any Primary Partisan.
This is why I keep saying it's beneficial to have a non-Candidate in Webb run with this.
That doesn't necessarily make Clinton look good.
You can mull that over for a bit.
