A Hunting Accident
If you haven't seen the 11/21 episode of ABC's Dirty Sexy Money, then, scroll down now. The show is about a uber-wealthy family and the family lawyer who is entrusted with getting various family members out of trouble. One family member, Patrick Darling, is NY AG, and is running for Senate. He has a picture perfect family ... and a transgendered mistress (Carmelita) on the side (not so good, politics-wise). Patrick's wife (Ellen) finds out about the affair, and is willing to live with it... until Patrick admits that he can share things with his mistress in ways that he can't with his wife. Ellen gets pissed off, gets a shotgun and shoots Patrick at the family's country estate. Now, the public can't find out that the wife shot her husband, a US Senate candidate. (Would invite pesky questions, ya know.) What's the cover story? That it was a "hunting accident." A Darling family friend is given some cash to pretend to be the guy who shot Patrick Darling. It was a clear reference to Cheney's hunting accident, and it made me LOL when I watched.
