The holidays are here! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I was determined to keep our celebration simple this year, but I couldn’t resist trying this turkey centerpiece.
Follow me over the fold for more pictures.
As usual, I have a long list of projects for the next four weeks. I am almost finished with an afghan I promised my brother and SIL.
I'm sooo close to being finished. I just have to finish knitting the border, weave in the ends, and wash it. This afghan has been toted half-way across the U.S. in the process of it's creation and it could stand a good bath.
I decided to make some jewelry for my daughter.
I’m also signed up for another beading class in a couple of weeks and my project from that class will be a gift for my daughter-in-law.
I always make toys for all the cats in our extended family, and now I have to make one for Tilly, too.
My grandson’s birthday is the week before Christmas and I’ll be having the family over for a birthday party. It used to be a tradition in our house to put out hors d’oeuvres on Christmas Eve day, but now I do it a week earlier and call it a birthday party.
Not to mention decorating the trees, shopping and writing Christmas cards and this year, sending care packages to anysoldier.com.
Slightly off-topic, but my son gave something to me this week. When I saw it, I thought of WAYWO. It’s a 4x6 flannel sack filled with rice to use as a heating pad. It works so well when my hands start aching from arthritis. I had never heard of this before. It’s perfect – I heat it for about one minute in the microwave and it holds the heat for about half an hour. I was telling a friend about it. She said someone gave her mother one that was longer and narrower, so she could use it on her neck.
I'll try posting pictures in the comments section. They aren't working in the diary.
