Kucinich: Want change? It's Up To You!

Kucinich spoke at an impeachment rally today at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.

What's the matter with the rest of America? And where were the kids at Dartmouth today?

What's wrong with America is America is asleep, Ipoding and footballing and working too many hours to think or care. Kucinich is here to wake us up.

At the topflight Dartmouth College, the impeachment panel spoke with an audience whose predominant haircolor wasn't just gray, it was white. Many in the audience were the usual suspects at an activists events like impeachment rallies and peace vigils.

But I found a student, mirabile dictu!

He was soon joined........by a Couple Of Others! There were a few others in the audience who were quite possibly students, when the event began with the caveat that Dartmouth takes no partisan stand and thusly was not underwriting or endorsing the event - but kudos for even hosting the event from what I concluded - all this was not the best of event openers to me, for what that is worth. I do believe another observer looking for high and low spots in this most varied and interesting event might well have similar conclusions.

When John Nichols spoke in complete paragraphs with pointed commentary I was impressed. He gets it this is the time to make the moves to press the impeachment cause. He has many approaches to take to keep the impeachment issue alive in the public domain. The core of John's message was to learn, listen and act. With the fodder we were armed with today, we have much info for ammo to discuss with family and friends.

    He wants to ban handguns ( http://kucinich.house.gov/... ) and he's considering Ron Paul as a running mate.

    I'm against impeachment because I think it's too divisive and counter-productive.  We would never get enough Republican support in the Senate to hand the reins of the country over completely to Nancy Pelosi, and short of that, the whole thing is just divisive posturing.  Still, I can respect the impeachment movement's desire to see justice done against Bush and Cheney.  But I can't respect their rallying around Kucinich as a spokesman, because he's just a loony little attention-monger.

      really? any more loony than Reid or Pelosi ignoring the mandate of voters in Nov 2006 and poll after poll?

      cause i'm thinking their reasoning makes them pretty fucking loony.

      our currency is about to tank... the environment is overloaded and turning on us... we have this threat of our gov't taking us into iran

      the Democrats had the public and the mandate and they've blown it at every opportunity. now that THAT is fucking loony.

        I'm not pleased with the Dem leadership at all, but that doesn't mean Kucinich is right.  Ron Paul also opposes the Dem leadership... and he's also loony.  Both of them are right about some issues, and both are very wrong about other important issues.  Both are too extreme and driven by ideology more than practical problem-solving.

        This is the oldest story in the book:

        Reid/Pelosi:  Porridge that's too cold
        Kucinich:  Porridge that's too hot
        Obama/Edwards:  Porridge that's juuust right
        Hillary:  The bears
