Top Comments: These Should Be Sig Lines, Part III

Tue Nov 27, 2007 at 06:58:44 PM PDT

We have so many insightful and powerful diaries written here at Daily Kos.  Our diaries inform, inflame, impassion, and even entertain.  We Kossacks have strong voices and an even stronger will to be the change we wish to see in this country.

One of the richest, and perhaps most under-appreciated, areas of thought come in the form of comments attached to these diaries.

Here at Top Comments we strive to recognize and promote the talent of this community by highlighting outstanding comments found throughout the day by the diarist, and through nominations at made at topcomments at gmail dot com by your fellow Kossacks.

These nominations are subjective, and certainly not complete (as no one can read the complete site on a daily basis!). But hopefully they will serve to shine a light where deserved, and to give the reader a good starting point in finding conversation on the site.

Please come in and make yourself at home!   Join us beneath the fold...

I. Fun With Sig Lines

OK, so I'm in a rut with these sig line diaries, but I've got nothing else for you tonight. Sorry. Here is part one and here is part two.

Again, what I've done is collect little snippets of comments or diaries that I felt would make funny signature lines. All of these have cracked me up for one reason or another:

I don't blogcrush[.] I'm dead inside.

Markos is certainly the best blogger in the world

[bonus if you guess who wrote that, no cheating]

Even a young newbie like me can tell that you're an intolerant old douchebag.

can someone come in and change this kid's sheets. taylormatt has made a boo-boo...

damn, you're already arguing with another ID[,] are you gonna ban them too?

wait forever. but trust that I'm not here to amuse you

This is merely what I've experienced over the two weeks that I've been a member of the Kos message board.

The vast majority of Kossacks are brutally humourless, and extremely intolerant.

People on this board are religiously condescending, and completely sanctimonious.

And this is what I'm calling the "dead to me" collection:

You're dead to me.

Football is dead to me.

Both Lowes and Home Depot are dead to me (n/t)

TV News Is NOW Fucking Dead To Me

Huffington is dead to me...

biden's dead to me

Richardson is dead to me!

Barbara "Elect Lieberman" Boxer is dead to me.

Hillary's dead to me.

WHY DON'T YOU JUST TELL HILLIARY TO DROP DEAD

Looks to me like a dead elephant

Let's hear your favorite sig line candidates in the comments!

II. Tonight's Top Comments

Via arielle:

dmsilev, commenting in a rather oddly-titled diary (Is Obama Listening With Those Big Ears?), has a suggestion for the ear-obsessed author. Hilarity ensues.

Via Ninepatch:

In Ninepatch's wonderful diary, '30 minutes To Make A Differnce In  The War', DMiller comes up with an innovative idea for getting kids involved in helping troops deployed in Iraq.

Via Moody Loner:

The Maven shows us a glimpse of Romney's true face.

RickMassimo explains Joe Klein.

feloneouscat and hannah discuss nature vs. nurture.

Via brillig:

In Christian Dem in NC's diary, revbludge explains that Grandpa Fred would make a better President than at least one person.  The thread that ensues is fun, too!

Via blueyedace2:

Here's one from Mike S that pretty much expresses how many of us feel about the fallen

Via Spathiphyllum:

From the diary FAQ Forum: Got DKos questions? We've got answers, mem from somerville provides the set up with this innocent comment about html superscripts, and Crisitunity provides the "slam" right here.

Via nonnie9999:

[Ok, ok, this isn't a Top Comment from DKos, but nonnie sent it in, and she's right, it's damn funny!]

The absolute best comment of the day was over at Think Progress, explaining the real reason Trent Lott is leaving the Senate.
