Or did anyone else watching the Repbulican debate stop and pinch themselves really hard when the subject of guns came up and was then followed directly by a questoin on stopping inner city crime?
On the topic of gun control the question started out with a kid getting thrown a gun (not sure what kind and really dont care) from off camera, catching it, cocking it, and asking if each canddiate owns a gun and what type of gun they own. The candidates proceeded to name the types of guns they owned (and in one instance what type of gun his "daddy" owned) mixed in with the occassional "watch out the government is going to take your guns away joke." The basic point of the whole thing was GUNS ARE COOL!! AND WE KNOW ABOUT GUNS (and slingshots as well)
Next up was a question asked by an african american male and his son who presumable live in the inner city. There question went something along the lines of what are you going to do to stop the inner city crime around me? They mentioned the billions spent on Iraq with the crime they experience going largely ignored....
So what did the republicans talk about? Mitt Romney went straight into Family Values and how that would solve inner city crime? Huh?! Not one of the candidates actually linked GUN CONTROL to detering inner city crime. Personally I thought it was something that the South Park creators had scripted.
Pretty much sums up the current republican party
