Just a bit miffed

I had a few very busy days last week. Life upon life's terms intervened and I couldn't get online as is my wont. I already thought I was under stress due to deadlines, obligations; then my mother had a heart attack. An MI. Myocardial Infarction. That changed everything...again. A very heavy smack on the chops. I've been at the hospital most of the time, and things have gone well, upbeat prognosis and some fun political banter with hospital personnel of all stripes.  
I logged on to dailykos and was irritated to find I'd lost my TU status. It was the final smack in the face after several exhausting days; CCU and rising to the occasion and dealing with real life...and it just pisses me off. I'm no longer trusted.

I don't subject you all to many diaries. They've gone over like lead balloons. Haha. My sense of humor is sometimes out there. But christ, I am a regular contributor, I'm not a loony, I'm a true blue Democrat, yes, I'm a Boomer, sorry, but I'm trustworthy at this blog/site/space and have been since day one when I registered back in Fall 2004 or somewhere thereabouts. I'm trusted by people who love me, by  people who know me and I am a trustworthy person. IRL nobody cuts me off at a week if I haven't called.
This Trusted User thing is so insulting.  Exactly when will I have accrued enough credibility with the powers that be that I don't have to be demeaned if I'm remiss in my posting stats.
How many times must I show my papers?

    I lost my TU status recently due to a seemingly short period of low activity. I had it back within a few hours without any extreme efforts-- a handful of comments, really.

    I know it's no big deal, but we get attached to these little perks and recognitions, so I sympathize. I'm sure yours will be back quickly.

    She said tonight she felt better than she had in weeks. Might have been residual meds talking but she looks better and is back to her old feisty self.
    Of course pre stent she told the doctors she didn't want anything similar to what Dick Cheney might have gotten at our expense and was assured she'd get a Democratic stent. Hehehe. She also blamed George Bush for lots of things...as they crossed her mind..frequently.

  but it doesn't matter to the TU calculation system.  I don't particularly mind losing it when I take leaves from this place.  Do mind if I lose it because a gang decides to troll rate a comment -- but even then it's more about being trolled than losing TU status.  It's not like it worth much except occasionally to slap a zero on someone who pisses me off, a very cheap thrill.

  I'm a "square" too (as opposed to two circles).  I just could not keep up with the treadmill and I - being the kind of person I am - started distrusting a system that forces you to come up with ideas, when, well, silence was just as good.  It has nothing to do with trusting.  The name is wrong and should be changed; to do otherwise would be un-Democratic, IMHO.  LOL.

  Sorry 'bout your Mom.  Yes, you do have a right to rant.

  But - and this is important - the TU thing is truly, in the scheme of things, meaningless.  We can agree on that, no?

  ...I was really, really, really pissed! It was also the first time I was troll-rated. (But it was by Armando so it doesn't count.) I was seething for days so I understand the feeling!

  However, by now I've lost and regained my TU many, many times so I don't worry at all if I lose it.

    I'm glad to hear she's feeling better. Those long days and nights in the hospital are less than fun and draining physically and emotionally. Please get some rest and take care of yourself because you can't help your mother if you're not well, and she is going to need you.

    About TU, just keep commenting. The more opportunities you give people to tip you a piece o' mojo the faster you'll get TU back.

      got "trolled" for something the very first time. I was shocked, shocked- I say! And in that state of shock I walked away and said "fine- I'll go do something really useful like unpacking the mystery boxes of old stuff I found in the back of the closet." So, in a huff, I did. Or at least started to. Opened the very first box and immediately found... a naked, green-haired old friend o' mine from waaaay back. True story! He lives in my kitchen now, keeping watch and reminding me to always push the envelope. He's on my side now.
