If I had a dollar for every posted comment and diary on the subject of Clinton's Kyl Lieberman vote, I'd have enough money to purchase a small car. For some reason a great mass of the populace here seem to think this is important. And yet if I went out into the main street of any town or city in America and asked hundred people what Kyle Lieberman was I probably couldn't find three who would know. And if I then asked those three if Clinton voted for or against it they'd all be guessing. And yet there are people here who think this is going to seriously impact her campaign. The hyperbolic outbursts have to be seen to be believed and are liberally larded with forecasts of doom and destruction for the junior senator from NY.
I've got news for you. This particular issue is only remotely of interest to far left bloggers and the chattering classes like Tweety or Cillizza who think it has some implications.
The endless succession of Clinton hate diaries are larded with Kindergates, disgusting attacks over over things we've never heard of, and faux outrage over non issues. Most of diaries come from the same people. We know who they are and like a self perpetuating oligarchy they all recc'd each other so they sit around for days sucking up valuable space which could be devoted to more important matters.
Tuesday was a classic example. The big news and I mean big news was the NIE which essentially demonstrated yet again that Bush and his admin are liars and/or incompetents. How many Recc'd diaries? One I think. Total diaries three maybe. Anti Clinton screeds of one sort and another at least fifteen of which probably four or five were recc'd. Doesn't all this suggest just the tiniest bit of a lack of perspective. It's seems that DK is as much of a bubble as the white house. Hermetically sealed from real world issues like healthcare and the problem of Iran. And Iran is a problem regardless of the fact that Bush has made a complete pigs ear of containing a country which is undoubtedly no friend of America.
You could write a couple of new laws for life at DK. The attention given to most issues involving Clinton is in inverse proportion to their importance. Or how about a Kossian version of Gresham's law where bad discourse drives out good.
