There seems to be plenty of talk lately about who changed which views on what and who went negative on whom. It seems like there are a lot of questions lately over who's a real progressive, who has a positive message, and who's really on our side. And frankly, I'd rather not level accusations against any one. Instead, I'd like to talk with you about one candidate that's always on our side, and someone I know will fight for us as our next President.

Follow me after the flip for more...

OK, so you must have guessed now that I'm talking about Hillary here. And yes, I can already sense some yawning over this. But since I still hear all these accusations of Hillary not being a "true progressive", I just felt it's about time to put that rumor to rest, once and for all.

First off, Hillary has had a strong record of standing by our side. While others waffle on whether or not a woman deserves reproductive freedom, Hillary has ALWAYS fought for a woman's right to choose. While others talk a good game on the enivronment, Hillary has the  mean, green record to prove it. Hillary has consistently supported equality for LGBT Americans. Oh yes, and Hillary has been consistent in voting to end Bush's occupation of Iraq and to protect our civil liberties. Hmmm, see a pattern here? I do.

I see that Hillary has been quite consistent in taking the progressive side when it's time to cast a vote. Hillary has a 95.8 lifetime score from Americans for Democratic Action, and a 9.0 lifetime score from the American Conservative Union. How much clearer could that be?

OK, so you'd rather not talk voting records? Fine then, let's talk about what Hillary is proposing now. Hillary has a health care plan that covers everyone, makes health care more affordable for all, and enacts tougher regulations on the insurance industry. Hillary has a plan that truly will take on climate change and make our nation more energy independent. Hillary is proposing a truly progressive approach to foreign policy that will finally put an end to Bush-Cheney "cowboy diplomacy". Basically, Hillary will truly make change for the better as out next President.

So would you like to learn more? Great, check out Hillary's issues page and see for yourself how Hillary will change our nation for the better. And on a light note, I'll leave you with a very special video from one of my favorite poets and civil rights icons ever, and I'll let her explain for herself why Hillary is on our side. In case you missed it, she recently did a radio ad for Hillary.

There, are you convinced now? :-)

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
